Congratulations this month goes out to HOF'r Gerald Johnson on winning his 21st. SSO Championship by defeating John Shreve jr. in the final match 248 to 185, taking home our top prize of $1000.00, the trophy and earning 10 more points towards our BOTY standings. Gerald qualified 18th with a six game total of 1336 this month and an average of 223.
Congratulations also to John Shreve Jr. on his second place finish winning $500 and picking up 8 points towards BOTY. John qualified 6th. this month with an average of 237 and a total pin fall of 1420 for his first 6 games.
This month's tournament was held at Southwyck Lanes where we competed on their higher volume modified house shot. We would like to thank the management and staff for hosting our tournament this weekend.
The Tournament Average was 211, or 3 pins higher than our previous singles event.
High Qualifier this month was Stacey Timmer with 1534 for 6 games, averaging better than 256.
It took a total of 1340 and an average of 223 or better to make our regular cut line set by Randy Schroeder.
We had 63 bowlers in attendance this month. There were 17 super seniors and 8 super super seniors and 4 females with the rest of our regular seniors.
We also had 23 bowlers advance to our Elimination Rounds, 4 SS, 2 SSS and 3 females along with the rest of our regular seniors. This provided a little better than 1 in 3 cashing ratio for the tournament.
The modified house shot, this week, brought us a lot more honor scores than the previous tournament. There was one 800 series by Carl Bishop with an 816 during the first 3 games of Eliminations. Carl also shot a Perfect Game during game 6 of qualifying. Stacey Timmer shot 299 in game 4 of qualifying and Pete Kaczmarczyk shot a 298 also in game 4 of qualifying.
